Jon Dodart
Founder/Partner
Mr. Dodart is the founder and creator of Solar Legal, PLLC, an energies based law firm, and the premier law firm for solar based energy. After receiving his California Bar license in 2015, Mr. Dodart received national media attention for his crucial role in exposing a $71 million white-collar fraud scheme and obtaining convictions, in a joint federal collaboration with the U.S. Dept. of Labor, FBI, U.S. Attorneys Office and other federal agencies. For these convictions, Mr. Dodart was awarded a commendation by the Director of the FBI, Mr. James Comey, the U.S. Attorneys Office Law Enforcement award, and Department of Labor’s Excellence Award.
Mr. Dodart left government practice for civil litigation at one of Southern California’s largest law firms. There, he secured millions in judicial awards and settlements, winning accolades and establishing himself as a trusted advocate by the courts and his clients. His consistent performance led to him being recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyer for the last five consecutive years. Yet, his entrepreneurial spirit beckoned. In 2017, Mr. Dodart founded his firm, focusing on business litigation. Through industry insights and business interactions, he discerned a distinct need for focused legal representation within the energies sector, and specifically, with solar energy.
Mr. Dodart transitioned his firm’s direction, swiftly becoming a trusted advocate for numerous leading solar companies, and Industry experts. His expertise was soon acknowledged at Solarcon, the nation's first and primary solar-focused convention, where he was aptly introduced as "The Lawyer for Solar." As the firm evolved, the firm rebranded to "Solar Legal, PLLC— The Lawyers for Solar,” emphasizing legal representation in energy law, and applied for a trademark for "The Lawyer for Solar." Under his leadership, the firm has seen exponential growth, attracting top attorneys and business experts, who share his vision and commitment to the ever growing energy and solar sectors. Mr. Dodart maintains his bar licenses in Utah and California, and is certified to appear before the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, the United States 5th district, as well as the Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He is also a proud member of the Los Angeles and Orange County Bar Association, as well as the Utah Trial Lawyers Association for Justice. A passionate advocate in and out of the courtroom, Mr. Dodart's dedication to excellence is evident in every endeavor.
Jared Hunsaker
Partner
Mr. Hunsaker is an established business law executive and seasoned General Counsel. Most recently he was the Chief Legal Officer and VP of HR for Fluent Solar, a full service residential solar sales and installation company. He is a skilled transactional attorney, with 15 years of experience in contract drafting and negotiation. He is also experienced in litigation, mediation, strategic business planning, regulatory compliance, real estate transactions, and business development.
Mr. Hunsaker received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Utah, SJ Quinney School of Law in 2010. After working at two boutique litigation firms, he became the first in-house Chief Legal Counsel for Entrata, Inc. and helped that rapidly growing software business grow and scale. He helped launch and run three subsidiaries that were in highly regulated vertical markets, including background screening, renters’ insurance, and utility billing. After Entrata, Mr. Hunsaker was the General Counsel and VP of Operations at an eCommerce marketplace in Salt Lake City, GearLaunch Inc. There, he helped the company grow and managed the operations, transactional work, litigation, regulatory matters, and legal compliance matters. He was instrumental in the company pivoting during covid, launching a print-on-demand fulfillment company, INXY, as their general manager.
Mr. Hunsaker has been in the utility and energy law space for over 12 years and has the knowledge and experience to help any energy company grow at scale. Mr. Hunsaker maintains his bar license in Utah and has consistently been recognized as one of the Utah Legal Elite. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, Federal Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Association of Corporate Counsel. Mr. Hunsaker is proud to be joining Solar Legal as a Partner, and looks forward to redefining legal services in the solar industry.

Angela is a distinguished alumna of the University of Chicago, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts with General Honors. She furthered her education at the University of Washington School of Law, receiving the John M. Davis Endowed Diversity Scholarship. Angela's legal journey includes a judicial externship at the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division I, under the guidance of the Honorable Judge Marlin J. Appelwick. With experience in business litigation and labor law, Angela is dedicated to promoting renewable energy and environmental advocacy. Angela is licensed to practice law in Washington State and California.
